We started this as a grassroots effort—just three longtime friends and neighbors who’ve called Brentwood home for over 25 years. We’ve watched the jacarandas bloom in the spring, cheered at kids basketball games at the too small gym at Barrington Park and a noisy dinner at Toscana or Baltaire.

 

Brentwood isn’t just where we live—it’s where we’ve built our lives. It’s morning coffee at Caffe Luxxe or Belwood for their signature muffins, evening strolls down San Vicente, and that familiar small-town warmth tucked inside a big city. Whether you’re grabbing a smoothie after a hike in Mandeville Canyon or reminiscing about the Brentwood Country Mart’s old-school charm, this neighborhood has a way of making everyone feel at home.

 

We created LA49 as a space for locals, by locals—a place where neighbors can connect, share resources, and keep up with what’s happening in our corner of Los Angeles. Over time, we hope to fill this site with everything from the best hidden gem restaurants to local history, family-friendly activities, and updates on community events.
