Samantha Liber, a Brentwood School student preparing to begin her junior year, tragically passed away on August 8 during a family vacation in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Sami, as she was lovingly known, was enjoying a guided ATV tour of Shadow Mountain with her mother and sister when the vehicle overturned, causing injuries that proved fatal.
A bright and accomplished student, Sami was eagerly anticipating the new school year, where she had been named Editor-in-Chief of the yearbook—a rare honor for an underclassman. She was also set to join the varsity cheer squad, having dedicated her summer to training with the team. Beyond her academic and extracurricular achievements, Sami was a talented and budding artist with dreams of pursuing a career in design after attending one of the prestigious colleges on her horizon.
Sami loved her hometown and its treasures, spending afternoons at local favorites like Brentwood Country Mart and Abbot Kinney, often with her favorite music as her soundtrack. A lover of connection and community, she recently began working at the Brentwood General Store and volunteering with Allies For Every Child, working with underserved students by teaching them art skills she had developed over the years.
Sami’s vibrant spirit, boundless potential, and creative talent will be deeply missed by all who knew her. For more about Sami and The SAMI Foundation, visit www.samiliber.com
She was an wonderful person, I only met her twice, but she was kind to me when she didn't even really know me. Miss you Sami.
